[edit] Summary of the call

• We reviewed the notes from the July 31 Meeting in Berea, questions were raised by folks who were not present

• Questions included: Description of KY PMA & how it went / What is the plan for the 5 days of the USSF? / How do we continue to communicate and evolve the models as we try out the multiple ways of holding a PMA?

• Discussed general flow of KY PMA – Outline attached with general recommendations (ATTICA! If you or other KYSF folks have additional notes, please send them along!)

• Discussed 2 kinds of PMAs – Localities (local, regional, community-based PMAs) & Sectors (issue areas, movements)

• Discussed Organizing Goals: support base building efforts around the country, learn about prevailing issues, generate vision-based solutions and actions to bring to Detroit and beyond, and build towards a national grassroots agenda

• General questions that PMAs address:

• 1) What is the moment today (build analysis, balance sheet of what is happening) • 2) What action do we take together?

• Discussed ideas about how the PMA will be integrated into the USSF. Included “Day of Listening, Day of Resolutions, Day of Commitments” / Listening to Detroit the first day and working that assembly in to next day’s theme of global economic crisis, & more!

• Discussed connection to Detroit-initiated actions & projects that people can begin to support through the PMAs

• Discussed PMAs that this group will initiate through networks – Suzanne & Mai talked about two PMAs, 1 that will focus on gender liberation and the other that will focus on the stimulus money, national public works plans, and employment – Viviana talked about PMAs that will address and advance work with immigrant & migrant justice

• Elandria will work on setting up a Zoho page so that we can have communication structure that allows for continued conversation and development

• Next call we will address how to connect & represent with USSF bodies: Outreach WG, the NPC, the DLOC, and the Organizing Committee
